Better Living Health and Community Services is dedicated to providing client-centered and innovative programs and services, responsive to the needs of the Seniors we serve.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our community center team in the position of _Membership Support, Active Living Programs_.


If you are friendly, outgoing, courteous, and organized this is the job for you The position is responsible for providing customer service support to our members; supporting the operations of the center, and managing the administrative and business processes necessary to ensure the program runs efficiently.


  • College Diploma in a related field (e.g. Recreation Management, Gerontology, Health Promotion) or equivalent work experience
  • Administrative and/or customer service experience in a customerfacing position
  • Experience working in community services with older adults is an asset
  • Extensive computer knowledge with demonstrated experience using MS Office
  • Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work in a busy environment
  • Proven ability to prioritize own workflow, and demonstrated ability to coordinate efficient administrative processes
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutionsfocused in managing member concerns or visitor inquiries
  • Proven organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Current First Aid & C.P.R. certification within first 3 months of employment
  • Successful Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment
  • Respond to inquiries within the defined scope of the role, redirecting members and visitors to other organizational services as appropriate
  • Manage established registration processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Book/setup rooms and arranging appropriate accommodations
  • Support _Program Coordinators_ within the Active Living Programs Department including planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Carry out the key components of a clientfocused customer service model
  • Observe and discuss actively within the team any "at risk" programs
  • Conduct data entry on a daily basis, statistical tracking, and monitoring for all programs
  • Support statistical tracking/reporting requirements for funders and internal/external reviews as required
  • Maintain client/member databases to keep uptodate records
  • Monitor front desk volunteers, allocating duties as required, including organizing quarterly meetings and overseeing the schedule
  • Track and balance finances daily as required
  • Create and maintain program schedules including room booking/setting up rooms and arranging appropriate accommodations
  • Maintain ongoing communications/liaison with staff/volunteers across service departments of the Organization
  • Work evening and weekend shifts as required

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
