Job Summary:
Avid Technology is looking for a Scrum Master to join the Audio Products development group.

In this role you will embody the values of servant leadership and be the process owner for your teams, enabling them to create the tools that artists around the world use to make their magic every day.

About the Job:

  • In this role you will be the scrum master for 23 distributed development teams.
  • Organize, prepare and facilitate team ceremonies such as planning and retrospective sessions.
  • Keep meetings focused and positive.
  • Understand the team's capacity and velocity and anticipate factors which might impact them.
  • Participate in weekly projectwide status updates and roadmap review sessions.
  • Drive backlog refinement in close partnership with the product owner.
  • Listen actively in order to identify when someone is blocked.
  • Document obstacles, create action items and follow up in order to keep the team unblocked.
  • Perform JIRA administration tasks such as updating filters, creating stories, ensure tasks meet the definition of ready and help the team keep the sprint board up to date.
  • Understand the meaning and purpose of the stories on the team backlog.
  • Ensure the sprint process follows the agreed approach and create a culture in which team members are committed to comply with the accepted processes.
  • Provide feedback to functional managers on equipment or related needs for the team.

Job requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a scrum master, agile coach, delivery manager or a similar project or team leadership role.
  • Experience working with teams distributed in different locations / time zones.
  • Understand the general process of software development and the lifecycle of a software product.
  • Strong, proven ability to build relationships across team boundaries and successfully operate in a global, crossfunctional organization.
  • Great communication skills, including facilitation and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of the scrum framework and other Agile practices (XP, Kanban, etc.) as well as techniques for effort estimation and planning.
  • You understand that fun while working is very important.
  • Previous experience using JIRA for effort estimation and issue tracking.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Work as part of a globally distributed team with members in United States time zones.
  • Experience being the scrum master for more than one team.
  • Project management (PMP) and/or Scrum Master (PSM/CSM) certifications.
  • You constantly seek new ways to improve processes already in existence.
  • People management experience.
  • Passion about music, film or media is always a plus
