Sturgeon Public School Division is currently seeking a
Full‐Time Permanent Speech Language Pathologist for our SHINE Beyond Limits team. Reporting to the Coordinator of Specialized Services, the Speech Language Pathologist functions as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide family centeredservices in home and community.

SHINE Beyond Limits (Supporting Hope In Natural Environments) is:

  • A branch of Sturgeon Public Schools
  • A service provider for Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), providing supports and services to families of children with extraordinary needs in prekindergarten to grade 1
  • The SHINE office is located within Gibbons School
  • Provides specialized support for the family and the child to compliment learning and functioning in the home and community
  • Service delivery is flexible and may include in person or virtual support as well as direct consultation to connect and/or partner with other resources and programs

Family centered service delivery reinforces the importance of viewing the family and child as an entire unit and respecting the values, cultural background, and unique needs of each family.

Our services focus on the priorities and functioning of the family and on related activities that are most meaningful to them.


This is non-educational programming and geared to support skill development, participation, and functioning in meaningful day-to-day activities and experiences that will assist students in both their life and educational journey.


Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working within a multidisciplinary team to determine best interventions, supports, and program planning for children with complex needs and their families
  • Support families with alternative augmentative communication options and implementation of such options in home and community
  • Ensure all reporting is submitted accurately for funding purposes
  • Collaborate with other Speech Language Pathologists at the school to ensure consistency of practice in both school and home

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent from a recognized school of Speech & Language Pathology
  • Must be eligible for membership with ACSLPA and Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC)
  • Experience working with pediatric augmentative communication assessment and intervention
  • Valid Driver's License required as daily travel to family homes and communities is required


Sturgeon Public Schools offers a competitive hourly range of $ $58.39 based on experience and education as well as a comprehensive benefits package, as per the General Employment Conditions.

Hours of work are 8:30am - 5:00pm; 40 hours per week; with flexibility for some evening work as well.

$45.31-$58.39 per hour
