Do you enjoy going to work in a casual atmosphere and want to be involved with all areas of the Human Resources Department? We have an opportunity for you to join our fantastic team as a Human Resources Technician This position is located at our plant in Longueuil, Quebec with an employee base of 25 employees.
You will be a valued member of our North America HR Team with opportunities to develop your HR skills and knowledge.
You will be responsible for carrying out all tasks related to HR, benefits administration, health & safety, payroll administration, training, HR analytics and special projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Administration
- Develop and/or distribute, copies correspondence, letters, memos, reports, presentations, policies/procedures
- Record management of confidential HR related files (i.e. employee files, medical files etc)
- Responds to routine inquiries by employees about various HR policies/procedures
- Create, update and produces variety of HRIS related reports as required to support HR metrics and analytics.
- Ensure compliance and maintenance activities for conformity with the variety of Quebec Programs and legislation
Recruitment
- Prepare and post vacant job positions
- Prepare employment offers
- Prepare, distribute, and conduct new hire documentation and orientation
- Arrange for temporary staff as required
Payroll, Benefit and Pension Administration
- Main point of contact for our outsourced Payroll Provider
- Maintains employee data in HRIS system and send updates to our outsourced payroll specialist.
- Verifies employee hours for payroll processing, reconciling timecards; following up on anomalies with Human Resources Manager, payroll provider, staff and management as required
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll and forward to payroll provider when necessary
- Monitors Attendance by running reports and issue counsel in accordance with attendance policy.
- Maintains and updates confidential staffing files and records
- Create and develops reports, as required in HRIS.
- Enroll and administer employee benefits and DPSP programs into HRIS system and benefit provider
- Acts as a point of contact for benefit program for employees
Training
- Ensures employees are up to date on all legislative and Eternity required training
- Schedule and arrange all required training
- Maintain training records and training matrix
Health & Safety
- Lead Health and Safety Committee, conduct meetings and follow up as required
- Enter all pertinent information and accurately complete detail for reporting.
- Research, assemble and report information necessary to assist with the development of health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Ensures employees health and safety training, are current and up to date accordingly to legislation and MTCA requirements
Requirements:
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of current Employment legislation.
- Previous experience with a HRIS is desired.
- Knowledge of CNESST, Employment Standards Act and Quebec legislation
- Bilingual in French & English
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations.
- Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills and accuracy, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and react to changing situations; able to meet deadlines
