Major Duties and Responsibilities:


Program Execution:
Effectively execute the strategic vision for supplier diversity as outlined by the Global Supplier Diversity Lead. This includes ensuring its successful deployment throughout the AZ value chain and across all business units.

Key initiatives include the implementation of the AZ US Small Business Plan, the expansion of the program on a global scale, the rollout of the Tier 2 program, and AZ small/diverse supplier development programs.


Procurement and Business Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with category and sourcing managers to embed supplier diversity into procurement policies and practices, provide insight on existing and potential small and diverse suppliers for sourcing considerations.

Collaborate with internal customers, business colleagues and supplier diversity champions to understand current and future business needs and support them in developing strategic roadmaps to support an increase in small and diverse spend.

This includes organizing business matchmaking events and roundtables to foster connections. Support regional Supplier Diversity (SD) champions by assisting with goal setting and the execution of diversity initiatives. Work with the vendor management team to streamline the onboarding process and maintain accurate supplier classification and records.


Supplier Identification and Engagement:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with small and diverse suppliers that can support AZ procurement needs. Facilitate introductions between qualified small and diverse suppliers and procurement as well as business units.


Education and Advocacy:
Raise awareness among internal teams and stakeholders about the critical importance and benefits of supplier diversity to AstraZeneca. Champion the cause of small/diverse suppliers both within the organization and across the wider industry. Assist with crafting and disseminating internal and external communications regarding Supplier Diversity. Collaborate with US Supplier Diversity advocacy groups and actively participate in supplier diversity advocacy organized events, as required.

Create and conduct presentations, and contribute to the development and delivery of both internal and external training sessions tailored to various teams.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

Coordinate, analyze, monitor and report on program performance, metrics, and benchmark surveys ensuring the integrity of diverse data, and continuous improvements.

Validate supplier information and conduct market research and intelligence as needed using various external sites/systems like Supplier,io, System for Award Management, Dynamic Small Business Search, SBA.GOV, and agency SB program offices Collaborate cross functionally to ensure the accuracy of Diversity Data Integrity and spend metrics.

Manage Tier 2 reporting to track and report on our primary suppliers' small/diverse spending.


Development Programs:
Support the rollout of mentorship and accelerator programs designed to support small and diverse suppliers.


You Will Need To Have

Required Qualifications:


  • Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Procurement Supplier Diversity, Inclusion & Diversity (I&D), and Sustainability. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years with a proven track record in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with US Federal Acquisition Regulation clauses concerning US Subcontracting Plan requirements.
  • Exceptional problemsolving and criticalthinking abilities, with expertise in identifying issues, devising, and articulating solutions, and executing implementations.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication competencies, along with superior presentation skills.
  • Datadriven approach to decision making with exceptional project management abilities. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and project management capabilities, coupled with a keen eagerness to learn. Demonstrated initiative with the capacity to manage multiple, highpaced projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service, including timely responses to requests.
  • Ability to network and build relationships across procurement and business stakeholder community, small and diverse suppliers, and advocacy partners.
  • Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, SharePoint). Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, and database management, Power BI, Smartsheet, and Sharepoint

Preferred Experience:


  • PMP Certified
  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD), and Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • One to two (12) years of intensive experience in communications prefer
