The incumbent also provides advice and input on the use of social media to support marketing campaigns and initiatives.
    Job Duties/Responsibilities

1.

Digital Communications
- a. Develops an annual plan for the maintenance and growth of the College's social media channels in collaboration with the Marketing team.- b. Coordinates, creates, schedules, and curates approved daily content for and manages all official VCC social media accounts.- c. Provides live social media coverage at major college events.- d. Produces photography as required for social media accounts.- e. Monitors all official VCC social media activity as well as a broad range of external social media networks and accounts for the purpose of audience engagement, content curation, and reputation management.- f. Interacts and engages with VCC's online communities to encourage interaction, answer questions, address feedback, identify and appropriately escalate any safety and security related matters.- g. Advises college on the use of social media to how to create concise and compelling content.- h. Stays current on the latest trends in social media and digital communications and recommends new tools and techniques.- i. Works with all departments to determine how to heighten activity profiles and increase visitors through social media.

Content Management
- a. Reviews and approves all event and information session content before publishing to the website and social media calendars.- b. Assists with publishing content to the external and internal websites in collaboration with Content Strategist.- c. Assists in the maintenance of a central, accessible repository of quotes, testimonials and success stories.- d. Collaborates with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that VCC content reaches our intended audience.

Monitoring and Reporting
- a. Analyzes and reports on social media performance and makes recommendations.- b. Measures, records and reports on all media activity.

Marketing
- a. Provides support and coverage for the Content Coordinator as required.- b. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, New Media or related field.

Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills (journalistic writing, social media copy, copywriting, and content marketing).
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, detail, and consistency including adherence to brand standards.
  • High level of creativity and effective visual communication skills (design, photography, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to curate and create accurate, highquality and creative content targeting a variety of needs and audiences.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty and external contacts.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage several timesensitive tasks/projects at any given time.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media management tools (eg. Hootsuite), web analytic tools (eg. Google Analytics), and trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE

  • PAYGRADE 25 $2,095.57 to $2,458.55 biweekly.
