Site Superintendent


We are a well-established, specialized construction company, with a vision to be a leading provider of piling solutions in Western Canada.

Our core business is piling and shoring installations for a variety of projects on industrial, commercial and residential properties. We are looking for a permanent, full time experienced site superintendent to join our construction team.


Your first project would be located on Gilbert Road in Richmond and would consist of the installation of a sheet pile trench shoring system.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee and manage the entire shoring installation process, ensuring adherence to project drawings, specifications, and trench engineering drawings.
  • Regularly inspect the work site to monitor progress, identify any potential issues, and ensure quality control.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to analyze project costs, track expenditures, and identify and address any budget variances.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed construction schedule, coordinating equipment and construction forces to optimize productivity and meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct thorough research and maintain uptodate knowledge of utility locations, taking necessary precautions to prevent utility strikes and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Attend and actively participate in site meetings, project meetings, and coordination meetings with various stakeholders to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure effective communication.
  • Enforce strict compliance with all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on the project.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with the project team, including subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, to ensure smooth workflow, timely completion, and project success.
  • Provide regular progress reports, including detailed documentation of work completed, challenges encountered, and proposed solutions, to the project manager and other relevant parties.
  • Address and resolve any conflicts, disputes, or issues that may arise during the shoring project, while maintaining positive working relationships with all parties involved.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend innovative solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality on the project.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in shoring projects or related utilities projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of the complexities and requirements of such projects.
  • Display a consistent record of punctuality and reliability, ensuring the ability to meet project deadlines and maintain a dependable presence on the work site.
  • Exhibit a proactive and selfmotivated approach to work, taking initiative to identify and address issues, solve problems, and make informed decisions in the best interest of the project.
  • Previous experience as an equipment operator would be considered a valuable asset, as it provides practical knowledge and insight into the operation and maintenance of machinery used in shoring projects.
  • Familiarity with piling and shoring techniques and experience in piling projects would be advantageous.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Reside in the Greater Vancouver Area.

Salary:
$90,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
