About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management, the ERM Manager supports the ERM program.

The ERM Manager will be accountable for maintaining, developing, and improving key elements of Risk Management that align with the ERM program, such as tools, training, facilitating risk workshops, assessing, monitoring, and reporting.

This individual will partner with Teranet's Senior Leadership team in support of integrating ERM principles and practices into the organization's management system, aligned with Teranet's ERM program.

In addition, the ERM Manager will drive continuous improvement in the management of ERM, enterprise-wide.


This individual will also be the Risk Partner to the Financial Solutions line of business, partnering with its leadership team, supporting this business area with identification, analysis, prioritization, monitoring, and reporting of principal and emerging risks, ensuring risk management excellence in support of contractual commitments and good day-to-day business management.

This individual will bring previous risk management experience and an aptitude for continuous improvement and learning to provide expertise and leadership into our management or risks, enterprise-wide.


What You Will Do

  • Support the quarterly process of risk updates and related reports to the Enterprise Risk Committee (ERC), Audit & Risk Committee (ARC)
  • Complete risk advisory engagements (Project Risk Management, Business Continuity, Fraud Risk Assessment)
  • Maintain our Digital Risk Register System (Resolver)
  • Partner and assist the Financial Solutions business line (incl. Other business lines as we grow) in performing risk assessments, monitoring the adequacy of managing risks, and reporting updates to its risk status
  • Maintain and update key metrics report to ERC, ARC, and the Board
  • Promote ERM risk awareness and risk culture across the organization
  • Engage appropriate stakeholders in enhancing internal processes and risk management capabilities, championing continuous improvement relative to managing risks (i.e. risk excellence). This includes identifying gaps, recommending solutions, and working through potential issues
  • Keep current on emerging risks, trends and developments along with grow knowledge of the business, analytical tools and techniques in support of optimizing the management of operational risks, enterprisewide and assisting in completing "risk deep dives"
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program/project managers and other internal and external stakeholders
Perform tasks as assigned to support the ERM program


About You

  • Experience_
  • Minimum of 10+ years of Risk management or Audit (internal or external)
  • Experience working with crossfunctional teams

  • Proven experience drafting and reporting to Executive Management and/or Boards/Audit Committee
  • Strong critical thinker, problem solver, innovator, and collaborative team player
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management
  • Knowledge_
  • Knowledge of Risk Management and Internal Control Framework and best practices
  • Background in IT and security and IT risk management is an asset
  • Understanding of the real estate and credit/lending market an asset
  • Knowledge of Resolver (Digital Risk Register) is an asset
