Your role


Our Assistant Project Managers get the opportunity to work with the best in the industry to develop their skills on a diverse range of projects that vary in scope and complexity.

In this role, you will gain exposure to and assist in the delivery of one Toronto's largest ongoing infrastructure programs.

Prior experience with roads, bridges, and/or project controls would be an asset.


Responsibilities:


  • Work alongside experienced project managers and the client to learn the keys to relationship building and successful project delivery
  • Provide project support to Project Managers by overseeing construction and engineering activities, tracking contract documents, performing schedule reviews, maintaining project controls, developing progress reports, and preparing material in support of project meetings
  • Attend various project meetings, capturing accurate action items and key decisions in meeting minutes
  • Provide a communication path between Project Managers and other project stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, architecture or project management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • Experience working on bridges, marine structures or road design and construction projects is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation
  • Selfmotivation, initiative and an eagerness to learn and contribute to project deliverables
  • 1 to 4 years of experience delivering any aspect of engineering and construction projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Previous exposure to engineering consulting, construction contract administration or project financials is an asset
  • Exceptional detail orientation, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines and client expectations
  • Willingness to travel, on occasion to the project site and/or office
