We have an exciting opportunity for aSpeech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our growing team

Mississauga
Start date:
As soon as possible
Schedule: 5-8 hours per week, flexible, virtual and in-person
Status:
Permanent Part-Time
In this role you will:
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team (PT/OT) for Lifemark's Community Step Up Program and develop a collaborative approach to care for clients and their caregivers
- Help individuals with a range of disorders related to speech, language and swallowing
- Conduct specialized testing and provide therapy designed for individual clients' needs
- Assist stroke victims, paraplegics and the recently deaf to help normalize their speech patterns
- Assist patients who've been in accidents or other traumatic incidents in learning or relearning proper swallowing techniques
- Provide therapy and support to patients' families to facilitate social integration and recovery
- Abide by the standards of practice as set out by their professional college in practicing physiotherapy, and in all aspects of assessing and treating clients
- The SLP will be assigned a caseload based on the referrals received by other Healthcare professionals from Hospitals, Home and Community, Primary Care, and other Health Service providers
Qualifications:
- Registration with the College of Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
- Community experience is an asset
- Experience working with the senior population
- Availability to work flexible hours
- A valid driver's license and a vehicle
- A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
