SSR Mining - Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Safety & Training Advisor.


About Your New Role:


Reporting to the Superintendent, Safety, the Safety & Training Advisor, will be responsible for continued design, implementation, and maintenance of SGO's SHEMS (Safety, Health, and Environmental Management) program across Seabee operations.

You will look to mitigate risks and ensure that company guidelines and relevant health and safety regulations are adhered to.

In addition to this, you will oversee safety and health training and will mentor and direct all site supervisory personnel.

You will lead by example and demonstrate the appropriate behavior and attitude towards the company's corporate H&S values and encourage and support this in your staff.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and facilitate the development, administration and maintenance of safety policies and procedures.
  • Support all SHEMS activities
  • Coordinate and conduct inspections of operations, ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory H&S requirements, provide recommendations and follow up to make sure that noncompliance issues are corrected in a timely fashion
  • Ensure WCB items have been addressed in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Input required data as directed by the Safety Superintendent.
  • Participation in the site emergency response program, preferably at the instructor level.

Your Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrate a drive, selfmotivated and passionate approach to the health & safety profession.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment systems would be considered an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, management, communication, and problemsolving skills.
  • Work independently and within a team in a fastpaced, rapidly changing environment.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential.

Your Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the mining industry or in a similar role within the resources sector considered an asset.

About Our Working Conditions:


This position has a schedule of two (2) weeks on, two (s) weeks off at our remote camp in northern Saskatchewan, working 11-hour days with possibility of unscheduled overtime required on occasion.

You will be required to fly in fly out of the site on designated days from a pick-up point in either Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge.
