The WLN seeks to transform Indigenous health research, by supporting and promoting community-driven research to produce meaningful, ethical, and respectful research from Indigenous peoples throughout the region see benefit.


Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning and rollout of WLN programs and activities. This includes tasks such as contributing to resource and information development for the WLN.
  • Contribute to the creation of culturally safe and culturally appropriate spaces and activities that support Indigenous health research.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings.
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope of PI's program of research as requested.

Note

  • Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work inperson, on campus.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree completed or in progress, with 2 years of related experience in research project planning, and coordination of events and activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write for, and work with, diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative, act resourcefully, and think creatively.

Assets

  • Lived experience and/or indepth knowledge related to working in Indigenous communities in Atlantic Canada.
  • Two years experience working in an academic institution.
  • Experience with MS 365 and its suite of programs.
