    SAIT's Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) focuses on non-credit programs supporting corporate training, the individual learner and international projects. We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.

    The Opportunity

    This position requires a dynamic, multi-skilled person to Instruct Culinary Students in a pre-employment cooking program with our client Red Crow College. The position requires a person with extensive knowledge in various culinary techniques. The ability to supervise and instruct students in methodology and equipment usage is the prime objective.

    We are offering a 12 week pre-employment cooking program to the students at Red Crow College from May 28th - August 16th. The courses are offered Tuesday - Friday from 11am - 5pm. Travel is required.

    The Role
    • Preparing and presenting lectures and labs
    • Evaluating student progress and facilitating student achievement
    • Preparing additional study materials for learners
    • Providing ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
    • Liaising with relevant industry sectors
    • Monitor and maintain food costs according to guidelines
    Qualifications & Experience
    • Must have a proven skill in professional kitchen management and supervision andpossess a Red Seal or equivalent
    • Previous experience instructing in post-secondary an asset
    • A minimum of 10 years related industry experience
    • Expert knowledge of all cooking methods and styles practiced in leading food serviceestablishments
    • Clear and concise understanding of safe and hygienic food handling practices
    • Sound skills in classical and contemporary plate presentation as well as cold and hot food production
    • Computer Literate / online delivery
    • Exemplary Organizational skills
