The Plant Performance Supervisor will facilitate the execution of the Plant Performance Improvement Program (PPIP) to achieve continuous improvement in ready mix plant operation across the Dufferin and ORM network.
In collaboration with operations and plant maintenance teams, this position leads and executes plant performance improvement audits, determines required changes, proactively identifies corrective actions to improve the safe operations of the plants, assesses plant capacity potential vs requirements in volume (for Market) and quality constraints, and drives performance through the Batch metrics dashboard.
This position also plays a key role in setting the baseline training and performance requirements for all plant operators and actively trains new and existing plant operators.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the implementation of the PPIP:
- Promote and support company programs, policies and practices
- Sound knowledge of OH&S policies, procedures and regulations as it relates to plant operations and proactively identifying corrective actions to improve the safe operations of the plants
- Stabilize processes to reduce exceptions/errors that impact ready mix throughput and quality
- Provide education, training and knowledge transfer to batchers and plant operators
- Develop and maintain the process to evaluate adherence to program (educate, follow up, evaluate, feedback)
- Leverage maintenance resource, information and plant support teams to drive continuous improvement in operations
- Participate in annual shutdown planning, equipment standardization and selection
- Achieve and report on specific targets in terms of plant performance for the operation of the assigned readymix plants through a KPI dashboard
- Lead the development and execution of proper documentation and information storage related to the program
- Participate in OMG performance groups for batch accuracy within North America
- Act as the MPAQ key contact for plant/ version upgrades / annual training
- Maintain sound knowledge of competitive activity, industry trends and developments by participating in various trade associations and keeping up to date with recent industry publications
- Provide various management reports on a timely and accurate basis as required
- Perform other activities related to the function, or department as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma/GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Extensive experience with ready mix plant operations a requirement
- G Class Drivers License
- Proficient computer skills. SAP knowledge a plus.
- Experience with the operating systems of MPAQ, Command Alkon and Marcotte preferred

- Previous supervision experience
- Knowledge of concrete, construction and transportation industry and regulations
- Sales and customer service experience
