Position Summary


The VP/COO Bureau Veritas Minerals is responsible for full P&L, sales, business development, operations, technical, quality, and people management matters of assigned countries, regions and sites.

; 14+ Lab/Offices, 600 Employees


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include, but not limited to: strategic planning, business development, commercial operations, finance, budgeting, marketing, customer liaison, customer service, technical operations, HSE, etc.
  • Take full P&L responsibility for all functions within assigned areas and provide leadership and direction to Business Unit Leaders (VP, Directors, GMs) and teams for assigned regions and areas.
  • Achieve annual budget, sales targets and individual team KPI's.
  • Drive longterm strategy of the Minerals group, maintain and achieve SD25 targets.
  • Reviews operations for all aspects of safety, continuous improvement, Lean Management, and 5S Principles
  • Work with the SVP Lab Ops to support lean/process improvement events across the lab network focusing on sharing best practices.
  • Lead Turn-Around Time (TAT), Process Improvement Actions, Quality and Customer Satisfaction KPIs for assigned countries, regions and sites.
  • Oversees the technical direction of assigned regions and ensures current and/or new capabilities/technologies are leveraged to maximize market opportunities
  • Partner with the Operations to drive the development and optimization of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to improve quality, service, TAT, customer engagement, and laboratory process management
  • Drive maximum utilization of laboratory equipment across BVNA's labs.
  • Consolidate lab procurement actions and material spend management to leverage combined purchasing power and streamline CAPEX planning and execution across the BVNA lab network.
  • Develop and Maintain strong relationships with large corporate customers at multiple organizational levels (CEO, VP, Procurement, Plant Management, etc.) and multiple locations.
  • Lead commercial growth strategies for assigned countries and sites to include calling on large corporate accounts, overseeing the endtoend customer experience, from volume, order entry, pricing, delivery, credit, product quality, etc. while maximizing value to Bureau Veritas.
  • Assist in creating and delivering sales forecasts, goals and objectives.
  • Develop & manage quarterly account plans, regular reporting on sales activities, achievements, challenges and planned target companies.
  • Manage the Customer Satisfaction reporting system (NPS or similar)
  • Proactively read the customer and market segments to implement responses for competitor activity and market changes
  • Monitor key competitors and understand their strengths and weaknesses to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of employees within assigned countries and regions.
  • Champion people and leadership development as a strategic business imperative, including talent and performance management, Talent acquisition strategies and succession planning as required.
  • Provide advice and coaching to the Minerals Leadership team, and support building the next generation of leaders across the company
  • Play a strong leadership role in leading 'people priorities' to support the cultural evolution and ensure Bureau Veritas as an employer of choice.

  • Broad experience in lab operation related businesses (or similar) as well as technical knowledge and quality background in commercial (thirdparty) laboratories
  • Understanding and experience of good business management practices, including basic finance, strategy, HR, sales and marketing

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field, master's degree preferred.
