Description
ServiceMaster Restore of Thunder Bay is looking for a highly motivated and hard-working individual to join our team.

We are looking to fill permanent full-time positions. This is an hourly position with benefits available after 6 months of employment. Opportunities to advance within the company are available to hardworking individuals.

Working conditions are but are not limited to fast-paced environments, physically demanding, and repetitive tasks.


Languages:


  • English

Education:


  • No degree, certificate or diploma is required
  • Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
  • 1st Period Apprentice; 2nd Period Apprentice; 3rd Period Apprentice; 4th Period
Apprentice; Carpenter Red Seal Certificate; Carpenter Trade Certification

  • Any certification with IICRC is an asset but not required
  • At heights training/ confined space training is an asset but not required

Experience
2-5 Years or more


Equipment and Machinery Experience:


  • Drills
  • Air compressors
  • Reciprocating saws
  • Circular saws
  • Air guns
  • Nail guns

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences with a client focus
  • Clean and prep job site
  • Load, unload and transport construction materials
  • Garbage and debris removal
  • Removal of hazardous materials
  • Work safely with a variety of tools and equipment (hand and power tools)
  • Assist with demolition and mitigation services
  • Heavy Lifting (Weight handling up to 23 kg/50 lbs )
  • Availability to work after hours and oncall is required
  • Punctual, reliable, team player, communication skills
  • Outgoing, personable with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment with a team or independently
  • Tear out, framing, drywall, trim installation, painting
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Area of specialization painting flooring, kitchen cabinets and vanities
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools

Work Settings:


  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines,
hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

  • Outdoor environments may be at heights
  • At Heights certification is an asset

Requirements:


  • Valid driver's license
  • Steeltoed safety boots
  • Security and safety check
  • Criminal record check and Drivers abstract
  • Specific tools and equipment
  • Willing to travel within the NorthWestern area
  • Oncall availability for afterhours calls, overtime will be compensated

Salary:
$20.00-$27.00 per hour
