POSITION:


  • Aide

    CONDITIONS:
  • Temporary Full-time for approximately four (4) months
    HOURS:
  • Approximately 75.0 Biweekly Hours
    SHIFTS:
  • Days / Weekends
  • 7.5 hours per shift

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Preparation and distribution of meals and nourishments to patients and cafeteria customers
  • Warewashing and cleaning of supplies used for meal service
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly and safe working environment
  • Operating equipment pertaining to the assigned tasks in a safe and correct manner
  • Maintaining inventory control procedures within the department
  • Liaising with customers and coworkers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner to ensure service satisfaction and safety
  • Use of bedside menu entry for patient meal orders
  • Responding to pager requests
  • Demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation, respect

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Grade 12 education
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Knowledge of WHMIS
  • Knowledge of HACCP
- good English communication skills

  • Demonstrated excellent knowledge of all required menu ordertaking, food preparations and distribution techniques, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn these processes
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate all applicable pieces of equipment and to use all chemicals required for assigned duties, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn these processes
  • Proven ability to work well and create a strong team setting
  • Demonstrated commitment and responsibility to all aspects of the job
  • Ability to independently assess, prioritize and adjust routines in accordance with patient/unit activity and multiple/simultaneous requests
