Beyond the help desk, the IT Coordinator may also have other tasks assigned by extension of the IT department.

Tasks may involve many areas including maintenance and support of network equipment, server and hardware maintenance, user management, printer maintenance, hardware/software research and proposals, cabling, physical hardware management, and other tasks as needed.

Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software is an asset, as are good interpersonal skills. All other IT skills and qualifications are also significant assets.


HOURS OF WORK:


Golf Canada's regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, namely Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day and 5 days a week including a one-hour lunch.

However, the demands of your position may require your hours of work to vary to meet the objectives of your employment.

Due to the nature of this position, there may also be some travel required and the need to work some weekends.


PRIMARY DUTIES:
IT Help Desk (User, Hardware, and Software Support) 60%

  • Responsible for IT endtoend process for user onboarding and offboarding for all staff.
  • Maintain ticket system and IT documentation.
  • Diagnose and repair printer problems and ensure printer supplies are available to staff.
  • Management of IT inventory including imaging of reused desktops and laptops.
  • Management of endpoint protection including antivirus, computer encryption, and other threat management software
  • Set up new users with phone extensions.
  • Run Ethernet and other cabling.
  • Other duties as required.
Network and System Administration 30%

  • Proactive support of network services through monitoring software.
  • Support and maintain Windows Active Directory and Linux servers.
  • Administer and configure VMware systems and associated Storage Area Network.
  • Configure, monitor and test daily backups.
  • Secure network traffic by managing Fortinet firewall and VPN.
  • Audit the security of corporate networks, devices, and websites for vulnerabilities.
  • Management of cybersecurity enduser training and incidents.
  • Assist with server and web administration.
Business Services and Information Technology 10%

  • Assist the IT Manager with the following:
  • Contract negotiation and services with vendors and MSPs.
  • Communicating with stakeholders in the management of projects.
  • Research and recommend systems as solutions to existing and potential business problems.
  • Processing invoices related to IT expenses.
  • Investigating and implementing cybersecurity initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

  • Able to provide hardware support for user machines
  • Experience with troubleshooting software issues
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Consistent approach to physical organization and documentation
Additional Skills for Consideration

  • Experience with Active Directory, MS Office 365, Azure sync, and MS Windows environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with virtual server environments, especially VMware.
  • Experience with HP server Hardware and associated Storage Area Network
  • Knowledge of networking environments, including wired, wireless, DHCP, DNS, VPN, and VLAN
  • Experience with Fortinet Hardware and Cisco Meraki.
  • Familiarity with Veeam backup software and methods.
  • Basic understanding of the Linux command line.
  • Interest and curiosity to explore cybersecurity initiatives and threats.
  • Willingness to work flexible work hours and during inclement weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with staff, volunteers.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment.
  • Highly motivated individual with resiliency under pressure.
  • Interest in solving problems and desire to learn and discover.
  • Interest and curiosity to explore cybersecurity initiatives and threats.
  • Ability to be tactful, diplomatic and respectful of all confidential information.

  • University and/or College students preferred
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is not required but considered an asset.
  • Golf knowledge or experience is not required but considered an asset.
