Highlights of the job

We are hiring two full-time permanent Systems Analyst positions working out of Edmonton, AB.

This position may be eligible for EPCOR's hybrid work program.

What you'd be responsible for

  • Employing open communication and analytical skills to resolve operational issues effectively for customers within expected timeframes.
  • Ensuring system reliability and availability through dedicated system monitoring, maintenance and change management.
  • Assisting with the completion of Transition to Operations reviews and checklists.
  • Overseeing root cause analysis on issues to mitigate and prevent future risk.
  • Executing daily job duties with a focus on continuous improvement of processes and systems.
  • Participating in Major Capital Projects as required.
  • Providing positive contributions to documentation and knowledgebase to allow for the longterm sustainability of EPCOR Information Services.
  • Abiding by all Application Services departmental policies and processes.
What's required to be successful

  • Successful completion of a Computer Science or Engineering degree or a Computer Engineering/System Technology diploma is required.
  • 4+ years of related experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of the following would be desirable:
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Java, C#, APEX.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Oracle Middleware, Forms & Reports
  • Experience in billing systems
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and utilizing troubleshooting tools (e.g. wireshark, fiddler, netcat)
  • Knowledge of Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) is desirable
  • Previous experience with System Delivery Life Cycle using one or more common programming languages.
