Reporting to the Director, Partner Services, the Manager, IM Programs works within a Sector support team to ensure that all IM functions within Departments are integrated and aligned with the Government of Alberta (GoA) IM Strategic Plan, policy instruments, and client business requirements.
If you're successful, your primary responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
- Support consultation with clients and staff to ensure that recommendations and services are delivered with a client-centered approach, while ensuring effective business practices and compliance to policy instruments.
- Collaborate with others on the development of policy, standards, guidelines and best/promising practices to enhance Information Management within GoA
- Support Agencies, Boards, and Commissions with development of their IM program(s)
- Manage ongoing development of highly skilled, motivated, and productive staff and support their professional learning, achievement of performance plans and development of skills and knowledge
- Assign suitable resources to projects and initiatives and monitor performance to ensure a high standard of delivery
- Support the development of plans to digitalize business processes
- Collaborate with other service delivery areas to ensure that all services provided to departments are consistent and aligned.
- Some of the services your team will be involved in include:
- in-depth consultations with clients to assess business and related process changes with respect to their IM requirements
- delivering training sessions to address specific business challenges
- coordinating the activities of various teams that support the continued development, implementation, and enhancement of IM solutions offered to the departments
- working directly on large scale, strategic information management projects that impact the GoA as a whole
- working on supporting the adoption of M365 (including SharePoint Online) as the Government's Defacto information management solution
- leading reviews and risk assessments associated with technology development projects, ensuring that IM Risks are identified and appropriately mitigated
Qualifications:
University degree in a related field plus four (4) years of related experience or equivalent as described below.
Equivalencies:
- A related diploma and six (6) years related experience
- A related oneyear certificate and seven (7) years related experience
Assets:
- MLIS (Master of library Studies) or Archival studies preferred
- CRM designation
