  • Job Overview
  • A handson Report Writer who thrives in a dynamic work environment, this role involves working with crossfunctional business and IT teams in utilizing data and process automation to support Pet Valu in efficient reporting and making data driven decisions. Based on the business requirements, this role will create reports and workflows using tools like SQL, Tableau, snowflake, Talend, PowerBI. This role will be involved in different aspects of projects from requirement clarification, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support. This role needs to be a selfstarter, thorough in their work, and able to build, gain, and continue improving the experiences, knowledge, and skills in Business Intelligence area.
  • Essential Duties
  • Participate in all aspects of projects from requirement clarification, solution design, development, testing, deployment.
  • As a SME in reporting and data visualization, design and implement the visualized reporting solutions to fulfill business needs.
  • Explore and recommend the newer, advanced reporting capabilities/platforms/technology to support business data and reporting requirements align with enterprise BI strategy.
  • Create new reports, visualizations, and workflows based on business logic that gathered through the conversations with businesses.
  • Create ad hoc reports and datasets based on data requests.
  • Maintain/update current reports and workflows based on evolving needs.
  • Automate current processes.
  • Document reports requirements, business logic, and report processes.
  • Troubleshoot reports or processes to resolve issues.
  • Other tasks as assigned
Skill, Experience, Education, Certifications

  • At least 3 year of Information Technology related work experience in a professional environment.
  • Bachelors degree required, or masters in computer science or equivalent preferred.
  • Report writing experience in Tableau, PowerBI.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Working experience with data sets (transforming and data loading ).
  • Experience in BI data platform and ETL/data integration tools, such as Snowflake, Talend, SSIS.
  • Knowledge in data modeling
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to selfstart, eager to learn.
  • Knowledgeable with Agile software development methodologies, source control, and automated testing and deployment
  • Experience with multiple Source/Version control systems and understanding of code merging concepts.
  • Understanding of modern data architecture, such as data mesh, data fabric, data lake.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analysts in requirements gathering, prototyping and requirements validation. Analyze and verify technical requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
  • Experience with ITIL framework.
  • Resolving technical issues through debugging & investigation.
  • Promote selfservice Business Intelligence and help foster an environment of informationbased decisions.
  • Knowledge about retail systems including pointofsales, warehousing / distribution, and merchandising systems.
