Position Summary:
Acuren is currently recruiting for Cathodic Protection Technicians (various levels) in the Alberta and Saskatchewan area.

_Please note that senior technician/lead roles require AMPP and NACE certification_, we are looking for individuals with certification at levels 1-4.


Responsibilities:


  • Learn to execute various data acquisition and assessment procedures specific to pipeline integrity programs
  • Receive training to install, test, adjust and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and CP test points / stations
  • Gather structuretosoil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
  • Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity measurements
  • Locate pipelines and document positional pipeline information utilizing electromagnetic and GPS equipment
  • Perform overtheline depth of cover, close interval CP and coating surveys
  • Document physical features of installation site for subsequent detailed asbuilt drawings
  • Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports

Requirements:


  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record
  • Pipeline/oil field experience is not essential but considered an asset
  • NACE CP certitifcation would be an asset
  • AMPP Certification would be an asset
  • Technical degree or diploma preferred but not an asset
  • Able to work in various temperature and climate conditions
  • Be available to travel for multiple days to remote locations (>70%)
  • The ability and desire to learn new tasks

  • Mature and professional attitude towards work
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective problemsolving skills
  • Strong team attitude with commitment to customer service
  • Ability to manage time to maintain scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
