We currently have an opening position for a
Scale Operator position at our Bolton location, Ontario.


Main Purpose of Job:

The Scale Operator is responsible for weighting trucks carrying material. The incumbent will be keeping records of transactions, providing exceptional customer service, and accepting or making payments.

This is a fleet position, and you have to be able to cover other scale operators during their leave at other work locations.


Responsibilities:


  • Operate weigh scale, weighing in and out all scale traffic.
  • Accurately record weights into the inventory management system verifying scale tickets, and ensuring material is graded and paid.
  • Calculate costs for drivers and customers based on vehicle weight, prepare and issue tickets and receipts.
  • Ensure accuracy of tickets and cash transactions.
  • Balance cash register for all daily monetary transactions.
  • Complete daily reports, maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other reports, as assigned.
  • Communicate with other employees to coordinate the movement of materials.
  • Answer telephone enquiries, take orders and direct calls.
  • Assist customers with directions, questions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain order and housekeeping of scales and scale house.
  • Contribute ideas in improving productivity results.

Requirements:


  • 1 year of scale operator or administrative experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work from 7 am.
  • A high school diplomas.
  • Driver's License and ability to travel to different company sites.
  • Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
