Description

The purpose of the Client Services Veterinarian position is to optimize veterinary practitioners' use of the services of the Animal Health Laboratory (AHL) by facilitating test selection and interpretation through consultations with clients, with emphasis on livestock and poultry species.

Utilizing expertise in diagnostic veterinary laboratory medicine, the incumbent facilitates the optimal selection and submission of specimens, consults with practitioners about interpretation of results and their needs for additional testing.

This position supervises the AHL Central Services laboratory section, which includes specimen reception and data entry, in addition to the parasitology laboratory section and the marketing unit.

The Client Services Veterinarian also participates in growing the AHL market and AHL fee-for-service revenue through promotional activities such as trade shows, clinic visits, student tours, as well as presenting information at scientific meetings, seminars, symposia, and workshops.

This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement between the University and the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA).
