Clinical Lead
Toronto Region Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) Coordinated Access Project
About the Project:
The Ontario government introduced the Roadmap to Wellness: a plan to build Ontario's mental health and addictions system in 2020.
As a result of this strategy, the Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence (MHA CoE) at Ontario Health is actively developing a provincial coordinated access strategy, aiming to establish a system that offers seamless, easy-to-navigate, equitable access to the most appropriate MHA service based on urgency and level of need.
While the MHA CoE will work to develop provincial standards to ensure consistency, each region is working with local partners to define how coordinated access should best be implemented in their region.
To deliver on this priority in Toronto, Ontario Health Toronto is partnering with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and LOFT Community Services, who will support the engagement process and facilitate discussions that will inform the plan.
This work depends on the insight, advice, and engagement of stakeholders from across the city, including people with lived and living experience, and clinical leaders in Toronto region.
The Clinical Lead will work 0.2FTE and report directly to the Senior Vice President, Clinical Care and the Chief Medical Office & Vice President Education at CAMH, with accountability to the overall Toronto Mental Health and Addictions Coordinated Access Project.
The Clinical Lead is expected to:
- Be active within the Toronto Region MHA sector as a physician (e.g. working, consulting, leading etc.), ideally in a current or previous leadership capacity (e.g. Chief)
- Show significant engagement in improvement, transformational, or innovation activities, such as leading a regional physician engagement group, contributing significantly to the planning and implementation of the coordinated access model or any largescale project involving clinical change.
- Collaborate and partner with CAMH leadership teams, LOFT and Ontario Health Toronto to ensure alignment of coordinated access initiatives.
- Strategically contribute to the identification of priorities based on an understanding of the MHA services within Toronto Region.
- Participate and provide meaningful input on appropriate coordinated access working groups, or committees relevant to their work.
- Demonstrate experience working collaboratively with community partners.
- Engage with the Chief of Psychiatry table, family physician networks, and other key forums for clinicians to receive input and inform the direction for the coordinated access model.
- Have strong clinical and health system leadership skills.
