What is the Opportunity?
The position will be based at one of our project sites in Chatham, ON.


What You'll Do Here

  • Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed in compliance with all relevant Client requirements as well as provincial and/or federal regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs and policies.
  • Provide advice to project leadership regarding environmental matters as they relate to construction activities.
  • Monitor construction activities and evaluate compliance with applicable standards, contract documents and client commitments.
  • Monitor and report any potential environmental issues and recommendations for appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
  • Provide training to employees and contractors on environmental awareness.
  • Draft, review and submit daily field reports, incident reports, and compliance audits.
  • Work closely with Client environmental teams, to ensure project requirements are achieved.
  • Track key project performance indicators and develop reports.
  • Work with project coordinators/managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed in accordance with an established scope of work.

What You Bring to the Team

  • 35 years experience in the environmental or construction sector (monitoring experience preferred).
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Environmental Studies or Biology and/or designation as an Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).
  • Certification in environmental specialty area preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A valid G driver's license.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, coordinating resources as well as the ability to solve problems.
  • Excellent analytic skills and the ability to organize and express ideas clearly.
  • Strong sense of professionalism, integrity, ethics and desire to positively impact the environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability develop and foster strong working relationships.
  • Take initiative, ownership and work independently with excellent multitasking abilities.
  • Willingness to work in remote project locations, embedded with operational work groups.
