Hiring for Spring 2024

Part Time Training to start mid March 2024 with Full Time in Season April-June for 10 weeks


In this position, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the visual appeal, product placement, inventory management and overall customer experience within our garden center locations.


This position requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating visually appealing displays that drive sales and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities:


Merchandising Strategy:


  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the garden centre

Visual Merchandising:


  • Create visually stunning displays by rotating product in a way that keeps full & fresh product front & centre
  • Ensure that displays are aligned with seasonal holidays, promotions, and placement guidelines.

Product Placement and Inventory Management:


  • Work closely with management to optimize product placement and inventory levels.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate stock levels and reduce instances of over/under stock or product shrink

Training and Development:


  • Train store staff on merchandising best practices, product knowledge, plant care and customer engagement techniques.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure consistent execution of merchandising standards.

Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with regional teams to align merchandising strategies with overall business goals.
  • Communicate regularly with managers to gather feedback, share best practices, and address challenges.

Quality Control:


  • Conduct regular store visits to assess and maintain visual standards and merchandising excellence.
  • Identify and address any issues related to product quality, presentation, or customer feedback.

Applicant Qualifications:


  • At least 3 yrs experience managing a region with several locations and a large team of merchandisers (15 or more)
  • Proven experience in merchandising, preferably in the garden and outdoor living industry.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to make informed merchandising decisions.
  • Proficient in using technology for reporting and communication while in field
  • Creative mindset with a passion for creating visually appealing displays.
  • Able to balance infield and administrative duties while meeting deadlines.
