Job summaryResponsibilities include:
Ability to handle all land title office and personal property registry registrations and filings
Perform complex editing and formatting for correspondence and documents
Maintain an efficient file system (physical and electronic files), have strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Perform all aspects of real estate files from open to close
Review all types of real estate documents including refinancing, mortgages, sale and purchase contracts
Prepare all documents with respect to various types of real estate transactions -mortgages, trust letters, statement of adjustments and general correspondence
Experience with standard real estate transactions - tax searches/certificates, title insurance, land titles office and personal property registry
Experience with real estate development including the creation of air space parcels and the preparation and filing of disclosure statements
Ability to follow instructions with minimum supervision and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work with lawyers, paralegal and support staff in a professional, team-based setting
Qualifications include:
Graduate of a recognized legal assistant program/and or paralegal program (equivalencies will be considered)
Five+ years of experience working with real estate transactions. Some commercial lending experience in a law firm setting would be an asset
Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and document management software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have proofreading, writing, spelling and grammar skills

Compensation
$82,000+. Compensation based on skills and experience.
