What will you gain out of this job:

  • Experience in managing the delegation processes and procedures of a large "type certificate" DAO;
  • Understanding of P&WC products, technologies, processes for delegation, certification and continuing airworthiness; as well as processes and responsibilities of the main business organizations

What are our expectations:


Under the direction of the Chief Engineer Airworthiness & Certification, you will assume primary responsibility for the management of delegation aspects of the P&WC Design Approval Organization [DAO], including: liaison with TCCA; currency and optimization of processes and approved manual and procedures; coordination of the DAO Airworthiness Control committee including executive engagement and the delegate succession planning, development & authorization processes.


In addition, you will take the lead to develop P&WCs approach to certification of new technologies; such as Electric/Hybrid Propulsion systems.


In the course of above, you will gain understanding of P&WC of organization, products, technologies, development initiatives, and certification processes.


What your day to day will look like:
Manager P&WC DAO with primary responsibility for DAO AWM 505 functions to maintain and continuously improve DAO delegation processes to optimize effectiveness, efficiency and maintain regulatory compliance


Including:
TCCA Interface & Management

  • Primary delegation focal with TCCA maintaining effective relationship and understanding with TCCA Delegations
  • Coordination and management of TCCA Periodic Program Validation Inspections (PVI) of PWC DAO, and with internal Quality activities
  • Participation in TCCA/CARAC DAOrelated Activities
DAO eDAPM & Procedures Management

  • Ensuring uptodate and compliant eDAPM and associated processes / procedures by implementing changes from various inputs and ensuring enagemement of impacted stakeholders
DAO Airworthiness Control Committee [ACC] Management

  • Management and continous improvement of DAO ACC processes and procedures
  • ACC meeting preparation, organization and followup; including coordination with ACC Executives, internal stakeholders and TCCA
  • Conducting audits & interviews of delegated personnel in conjunction with Engineering Quality
  • Development of new DAO authorizations to meet business needs, in coordination with internal stakeholders and TCCA.
  • AW & Cert / DAO Sharepoint site content & updates
  • AW & Cert / DAO training development / delivery support
  • Budget & Statistics management support
Certification resource for EHPS programs and lead to develop associated PWC capability / certification approach


The tools you need to be successful:

Must haves

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering with a minimum of 15 years' experience [Field of study: Aerospace / Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline applicable to aeronautical product design / development]

Assets

  • TCCA authorization as an AWM 505 design approval delegate
  • Team player with a collaborative approach, ability to establish and promote relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good leadership and managerial skills, preferably with some prior experience leading a multifunctional team
  • Ability to think strategically and provide briefings and recommendations to executives
