Providence Centre owned and operated by the Sisters of Providence, a Catholic religious community of women, is a home and administrative centre for the Sisters of Providence and Sisters of several Catholic congregations.

Providence Centre is an Accredited Long-Term Care facility proud to provide Supportive Living Accommodations to our residents.

As Nursing Supervisor, you will be required to plan, organize, develop, and supervise all nursing activities in accordance with the Mission Statement and established policies and procedures of Providence Centre.

These responsibilities are to be carried out in compliance with current legislation and best practices, and as guided by the Executive Director, to assure excellent care.

As Nursing Supervisor, you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out your assigned duties and you report to the Executive Director and will be a member of the Providence Centre Leadership Team.


You will provide the leadership and direction for direct care services provided to residents with a team of experienced staff including LPN's, HCA's, Rec Aides and external agencies and professionals to ensure high standards and quality practices are in place.

Practical knowledge of infection prevention and control dedicated to preventing infections through process and outcome surveillance, outbreak identification and management, consultation and education, development of guidelines, policy, and procedure development will also be required.


The incumbent will have a leadership role with major emphasis on National Accreditation Standards, compliance of Standards and Audits as specified in the Continuing Care Health Service Standards, and the Alberta Health Accommodation and Licensing Standards.

You will be the primary contact and compassionate role model of the organization to our Resident connections; the ability to deal with residents' concerns effectively is essential.

The scope of this position includes diverse and challenging areas with components in:

administration, education, resident care, communication with Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services, and other community partners, and to work collaboratively with Home Care Case Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary care and ensure standards are being met Providence Centre Nursing Staff.
