The Position:


In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LutherCare Communities, and with funding from Canada Summer Jobs, we are seeking a Summer Accounting Clerk to join our team.


This position is only available to youth who:

  • is between the age of 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;

  • International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

The Applicant:
This position will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Finance Division.

  • Being an integral role in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for multiple entities in accordance with reporting requirements and the yearend audit process.
  • Ensuring compliance with filing and payment requirements for provincial and federal taxes.
  • Management of Fixed Asset tracking, processes and procedures.
  • Researching/implementing payroll and benefits standards and policies.
  • Continually monitor areas of responsibility with a focus to making improvements in effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assisting in execution of special projects and proforma analysis as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Applicants would typically have a grade 12 education and have a valid class 5 driver's license.

Enrollment in a post-secondary program is preferred, Must have sufficient practical experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position as outlined.

Applicants must have good interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
