Reports directly to the Associate Director of Execution.

The Window Wall Site Operations Manager shall direct, oversee and be responsible for all on-site elements and functions that relate directly and indirectly to the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of products on projects assigned to him/her.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Project Management Professional Certification is an asset
Years of Experience

  • Minimum 5+ Years of Field Management experience
Working Conditions

  • Work consists of 70% on Site and 30% in Office
  • At times, work will consist of 50% on Site and 50% in Office to assist FM's with back orders and requirements from installers
  • Attend site meetings and field tests
  • Work environment requires wearing PPE for all site work and in certain other locations
  • Requires driving a company vehicle to visit sites and clients
  • Full Health and Safety training required (Working at Heights, WHMIS, Basics of Supervising, First Aid, Supervisor Awareness)
  • Follow Health and Safety standards on site
  • Flexible to work overtime as required
  • Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust fumes, smoke, unpleasant odours and loud noises.
Senior Level

  • Detailoriented with the ability to read architectural drawings
  • Knowledgeable in the industry and knows about the product and systems
  • Ability to problem solve and find enterprising solutions
  • Full understanding of measuring on site with tools
  • Ability to work on many projects that are large and complex

Job Specific Duties

  • Review installation resources and ensure Installation is on track in accordance with the committed date
  • Monitor equipment usage; Advise an alternative equipment to use for specific tasks; Manage Field Managers to confirm machines are returned in a timely manner; Final review of equipment rental invoices
  • Review of all installer extras and forward summarized negotiated price to the Director for approval; Ensure Field Manager and Installer have most uptodate quantities and change due to extras
  • Participate in kickoff meeting for installation with the lead installer and engineering
  • Ensure that all reports received within 2 weeks for deficiencies are addressed in a timely manner
  • Visit sites and provide detailed reviews, project updates and weekly field tracks to the Associate Director of Execution on a projectbyproject basis when required
  • Create operating procedures and templated to improve systems or workflow. Provide external site knowledge to improve internal processes and bridge the gap between PM and FM
  • Analyze costing data for budgeting and comparison of what is included in the scope; Provide input and recommendation for installer selection for projects
  • Review SOP and provide execution plan for Field Managers. Engineering, Production, and Installation
  • Investigate and sort out issues or conflicts; Assist FM's with any disputes, or difficult matters encountered on the project
  • Conduct sire walkthrough with FM's from time to time to do quality check of materials and workmanship and compliance of details per approved shop drawings
  • Site walkthrough with Installer and Field Manager to review overall project installation
  • Plan and schedule deliveries to site with Plant Manager, Shipping Manager, and Execution Team as required
  • Visit finishing jobs with assigned FM's to help resolve outstanding issues, help listing punch items and expediting job completion.
  • Review procedure with the Health and Safety Team before sending out to Installers and sites when required
  • Ensure FM's schedule safety inspections, Competent Supervisor form and JHA prior to first delivery
  • Support the write up of job specific Safe Work Procedures
  • Direct FM's to prepare and provide asbuilt marked up drawings to Engineering reflecting changes that have been made during installation
  • Collaborate with Engineer and or Architect to provide inputs and resolve site or project concerns and issue. Sketch and design brake shapes for irregular situations.
  • Review SI's or RFI's and provide input to Project Managers, when required
  • Write and support the preparation of Contemplated Change Orders
  • Perform site measurement, if necessary, providing information to Engineering as well as train and support FM's to complete
  • Document lessonlearned and plan out steps to improve procedures and process for continuous improvement
  • Follow up with Service, Plant Operations, Shipping and other crews for completion of the work on all sites
  • Arrange for mockup installation, if required
