This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing and dynamic global group.Global Credit is a Middle Office within RBC Capital Markets. Fall Interns will be recruited into the Institutional Client Credit Management team. Global Credit provides transactional, risk assessment, and credit monitoring support for RBC Capital Markets loan and trading exposures. Global Credits key business partners are the Corporate and Investment Bank, Global Markets, and Investor & Treasury Services.
The Institutional Client Credit Management team is responsible for the management and administration of credit and transactional limits to support trading activities with real money asset managers.
What will you do?
This opportunity will be highly initiative-driven and in addition to set responsibilities the student will excel by seeking out their own opportunities to learn and add value
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the ongoing administration of the client portfolio through limit maintenance.
- Assist in onboarding new clients by understanding and assessing client investment strategies from a risk perspective.
- Assist in the preparation of Annual reviews of trading counterparties, including regulated mutual funds, pension funds, trusts and endowments
- Completion of assigned projects and other duties in an efficient and effective manner that supports business initiatives and regulatory requirements
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Working towards a Bachelor or Masters degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, CFA, or other related field
- Strong personal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical, communication and problem solving skills
- Highly organized with good attention to detail and very high level of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet timesensitive deadlines
- Ability to think critically and "outside the box"
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge and an understanding of financial statement analysis
- Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Products, including Excel (including using Excel as a tool for financial analysis) Word, PowerPoint, Access
- Previous experience using online research tools such as Bloomberg, KMV, or using S&P/Moody's/Fitch ratings
- Previous experience working with a Financial Institution
