ACHKAR LAW is an employment, human rights, and litigation law firm providing legal services to clients across Ontario. Our clients are both employers and employees - our work includes proactive advice to employers as well as full-blown litigation when lawsuits happen. For our employee clients, we help negotiate termination packages and settlements of sexual harassment cases, among other work - and litigation, when matters do not resolve.

Responsibilities:

File carriage of labour, employment, and human rights matters; this means knowing litigation and advancing your matters,
Drafting / Reviewing documents, including correspondence, pleadings, mediation briefs, affidavits of documents,
Strategizing on litigation matters and being able to advocate for your clients,
Working with clients, attending mediations, discoveries, and other court proceedings,
Prioritizing files and handling sensitive information in a timesensitive manner,
Communicating with clients and outside counsel professionally and with courtesy.

Qualifications:

Five years experience in labour, employment, and Human Rights Law,
Litigation experience, including mediations, discoveries, motions, hearings, and trials,
Ability to speak with clients carefully and with grace.
Ability to understand, internalize matters, and negotiate for clients.

Compensatoin is competitive and includes benefits and supplemental pay.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
$100,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
