Established in 1979, Northumberland Child Development Centre is a multi-service organization providing support to children, youth and families. We are a team of dedicated professionals strongly committed to family centred service who believe in clinical excellence.

We are seeking an
Infant and Child Development Specialist who is committed to supporting infants and young children whose development is considered to be at risk, and their families.


Position Details:


  • Assessment, screening,
    homebased intervention and support for children from birth to school entry who require additional support to succeed.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with other professionals in the working environment and in the community.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Knowledge and understanding of infant and child growth and development, parentchild attachment and family systems theory.
  • Training and experience in administering and interpreting developmental screening and assessment tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in parent coaching.
  • Ability to formulate Individual Family Service Plans which meet the needs of the child and family within all environments, utilizing the principles of family centred and routinesbased intervention.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Caseload Management software.
  • University Degree (minimum Bachelor's level) in child development or related discipline.
  • Minimum two years experience working with infants, preschool children and families whose development is considered to be at risk due to an established diagnosis or risk factor.
  • Experience in collaborating with other service providers and community organizations.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle.

Part-time


Salary:
$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

- home based early intervention: 2 years (preferred)
