The purpose of the position is to act as departmental resource to the Director, Financial Services, Manager, Business Office and Senior Business Analysts and to provide guidance to other finance support staff.

This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations,
  • Support monthly financial and statistical reporting including reporting for Senior Leadership Team
  • Prepare and Support external submissions, including Ministry of Health reporting
  • Review and approve financial batches
  • Support role to Senior Business Analyst with preparation of budgets, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Support role to Patient trust, Accounts payable and Accounts receivable
  • Support internal audit function, including conducting audits and test of controls
  • Support external audit function, including prepare reconciliations, backups, leadsheets, prepare and upload Trial Balance to auditor's portal
  • Upload and review of payroll import
  • Review and set up payroll red lights in payroll system
  • Lead/coordinate the forecasted Balance Sheet
  • Manage secure access and workflow in software system
  • Develop, create, generate and publish monthly statements including hospital reporting.
  • Reconcile and validate monthly statements, to identify any discrepancies and resolve inquiries. Verifies and sets up financial and statistical account combinations in integrated software programs as per MIS guidelines, Public Sector Accounting Standards.
  • Support and build Automated reports and dashboads in Power BI and other reporting tools
  • Maintain and update financial systems database, including updating system workflow and assisting with upgrades.
  • Support migration of financial data to BI and development of stakeholder reports
  • Participate in committees, working groups, projects etc., by providing expertise related to financial activities, incorporating Continuous Quality Improvement principals into these activities.
  • Develop/create reports in Management Reporter based on the needs of Waypoint to support effective decision making and being more efficiency. Maintain and update statements structures in MR according to the hospital organizational change and HR change. Maintain the security access of the statements in MR.
  • Monitor, analyze, and reconcile inventory level, trends, and turns, make recommendations to Directors.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Post Secondary Education (College or University) in business or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous relevant hospital experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of various computer software programs required for wordprocessing, graphics, spreadsheets, dashboards, presentations and report writing.
  • Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
  • Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to adapt readily to change

  • Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
