Receiving Supervisor
Permanent, Full Time

About the Job

Your Accountabilities

  • Supervise the daily workflow in the receiving department, providing training and guidance to the receiving team
  • Inbound freight procurement and load planning
  • Analyze and resolve workflow opportunities
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Manager, assess labour requirements necessary to maintain established service levels
  • Develop and maintain inbound schedule in conjunction with the Assistant Manager, Transportation team and Purchasing
  • Develop work schedules and assign tasks and responsibilities as it relates to the inbound schedule
  • Ensure adherence to determined deadlines
  • Organize and maintain a clean and safe working environment and promote safety awareness through training and regular meetings
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 1 to 3 years supervisory experience
  • Strong computer and analytic skills are a necessity for this role
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High standard of professionalism with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented, with a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, handling multiple demands, setting priorities, and exhibiting strong problemsolving skills
  • Resourceful and selfdirected with the ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to achieve goals
  • Interpersonal skills to work as a supervisor and to maintain respectful relationships with vendors, freight carriers, buyers, accounts payable and other departments
  • Background in horticulture or agriculture is preferred
  • Punctual and dependable, you highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity
  • This role will require the flexibility to work a variety of shifts including day, evening, weekends, and holidays as seasonal peaks require
  • This position requires periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift 50lbs and work in various weather conditions and environments
  • Must have completed high school or equivalent and be legally eligible to work in Canada
