1. Summary


Harbour Landing Village offers quality personalized assisted services to Independent Living residents on-site and seniors living at home in Regina and surrounding area.

We help maintain and encourage independence to increase the quality of life with care and kindness.

With our experienced multidisciplinary Assisted Services team, we deliver comprehensive and customized person-centered services to address our clients' varying needs.


The Assisted Service Coordinator may work independently or as part of a team, and their role is crucial in helping clients maintain their independence and dignity while receiving necessary care and support in the comfort of their own homes.

You will work directly with internal residents of HLV and external residents within Regina and surrounding areas to provide personalized assisted services to ensure their comfort and independence.


You will also be assisting the Programming team in executing daily activities with residents in small group and large group settings and on a one-on-one basis.

You may be required to accompany and participate in activities both at Harbour Landing Village and out on excursions, where you will assume responsibility for driving and supervising the residents on the outing.

Qualities like compassion, patience, and empathy is essential for an Assisted Service Coordinator. Building a trusting and supportive relationship with the client is crucial to their overall well-being and quality of life.

3. Assisted Service Responsibilities

  • Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist both internal and external clients with tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to ensure their daily needs are met. Assisting with transferring or positioning clients in and out of beds or chairs.
  • Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs):
  • Medication Reminders: Providing verbal cues or prompts to both internal and external clients to take their prescribed medications at the appropriate times.
  • Medication Assistance: May assist with medications at scheduled times while onsite in Harbour Landing Village, providing the resident with their prepackaged medications and water.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary preferences and restrictions for external clients.
  • Light Housekeeping: Assists clients in maintaining a safe and clean environment by engaging in light housekeeping activities such as light cleaning, dusting, laundry, wiping counters, loading and unloading dishwashers, fridge cleaning, floorcare, organizing and sorting items, and finding solutions for any safety concerns.
  • Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, social outings, and other errands.

Cognitive Activities:

Encouraging and engaging clients in physical exercises, such as light stretching or walking, and cognitive activities to help maintain their overall health and mental acuity.


  • Companionship: Engage both internal and external clients in meaningful conversations and recreational activities, and provide emotional support to combat feelings of isolation and loneliness. Encourages clients to engage in meaningful communication by listening, understanding, and responding appropriately.
  • Recordkeeping: maintaining records of daily activities, client health status, and any changes in their condition. Reporting any concerns or changes to the supervisor.

Programming Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other Assisted Services and Programming Coordinators in the following areas:
  • Assist in hosting socially and mentally stimulating daily activities, including, but not limited to daily exercise classes, cognitively stimulating activities, monthly birthday celebrations, entertainment, outings, and special events.
  • Assist the Program program coordinator with Day Program activities and clients in the Day Programming room when needed.
  • Provide guidance to residents by leading, encouraging, demonstrating, and assisting in planned activities when needed.
  • Visiting with residents who tend to recluse and need that oneonone attention.
  • Assist in the setup and takedown of special events our residents participate in.
