We are currently looking to hire a:

Youth Network Ambassador - Youth Collective Impact

- Part-Time Contract Position (17.5 hours per week) until March 30, 2025

Reporting To:
Manager, Community Wellness & Engagement


Purpose:


The Youth Collective Impact project will utilize a youth ambassador to strengthen awareness of programs and services catered towards youth.

The Youth Network Ambassador position is responsible for the organization and awareness of Scarborough Youth Networks and responsible for supporting with community youth initiatives, promoting community events & activities and providing administrative support for Youth Collective Impact project.


Key Areas of Responsibility:


  • Receive contact referrals and connect directly to community services through engagements such as oneonone interactions, inperson and virtual consultations, community events, webinars, and others.
  • Ability to provide outreach and service in "nontraditional" and culturally appropriate, communitybased ways that are responsive to the needs of communities.
  • Facilitate the delivery of information to the community, through multiplatform engagement methods through culturally appropriate engagement and outreach sessions.
  • Help individuals and families develop a plan for system navigation, including scheduling check
- ins and reminders.

  • Work with youth leaders to promoting and implementing programs, services and community events to local neighbourhoods.
  • Create posters, brochures, and flyers for upcoming community events/community programs/ initiatives.
  • Maintain and update youth programming social media outlets i.e. Twitter, Instagram, Website.
  • Assist with setting up meetings, records and circulates data.
  • Outreach to youth to engage with community events /initiatives & connect with partners.
  • Participate in community health and social services education opportunities through agency sitevisits, tours and workshops.
  • Receive support from and work in collaboration with the youth networks across Scarborough.

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:


  • Lived experience and/ or experience working with youth in community settings.
  • Lived experience and/ or experience working with most vulnerable youth and/ or families in conflict with the law, social justice systems and/ or marginalized communities.
  • Experience working in Scarborough is an asset.
  • Knowledge of and awareness to the life experiences of marginalized communities.
  • Diploma or degree in social services or a field relevant to youth development, social justice systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is considered an asset.
  • Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of organizational effectiveness principles and how they relate to overall program outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with parent and community members.
  • Experience in organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset.

Significant Working Conditions:


  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to travel across Scarborough to a variety of care settings.
  • Valid driver's license and access to car considered a significant asset.

Remuneration:
$ $24.59
