Description
The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan.

CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.


Responsibilities:


  • Participate in network design, implementation, and administration
  • Provide support for a variety of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, WAF, wireless network devices and various virtual network appliances
  • Develop, monitor and administer policies for the use of network resources
  • Evaluate and recommend network security improvements and system upgrades
  • Monitoring network devices and services to ensure optimal performance
  • Planning network changes with a focus on minimizing disruption
  • Creating and maintaining technical network documentation
  • Supporting various network services such as VOIP, DHCP, DNS, DDI, NIS and NTP
  • Producing and maintaining network wiring drawings and conceptual topology drawing

Required Qualifications:


  • A relevant undergraduate degree or graduation from a recognized twoyear computer systems technology diploma program
  • A minimum of 2 years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience in an enterprise network environment
  • Maintain at least 1 or more certifications; Cisco Network Certifications, Certifications in Linux, Windows, or equivalent IT certifications will be considered an asset
  • In depth knowledge of networking services and protocols
  • Knowledge of general computing environments and platforms such as Windows, Linux and VMWare
  • Proven network engineering, network operations and network performance analysis skills
  • Handson technical troubleshooting capabilities and ability to work simultaneously on several projects and to use good judgment in determining priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at remote and inperson collaboration with team members as well as end users

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

A comprehensive benefits package, including supplemental health & dental, life insurance, pension plan, and four weeks' vacation is part of a competitive compensation package.


Salary Range:
The starting salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $92,000.
