DUTIES:
The Incumbent will work under the supervision of the Manager of the Day and Stay Program and the Expanded Overnight Stay Lead by assisting clients in the Day and Stay Program, meet basic emotional, social and physical needs.
perform personal care, therapeutic recreational programs, observe and report changes in client condition; and provide client care as assigned.
The position could include weekends. This is a 7.5-hour shift.QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of an approved Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent.
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Strong communication skills, critical decision making, good physical and mental health.
The vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities,
- the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges, or
- the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association; and
- must be a minimum of 600 hours in duration, counting both class time and practical experience time
- Minimum one year experience in geriatric, rehabilitative or other community/long term care setting preferred.
