*Hybrid: Remote/Office*Location: Markham, Ontario
*Part-Time (6-month contract) - Transition to full-time after 4 month-assessment

The How_
: This is how you do things- Assesses impact of design decisions to the computer solution/product/service being developed (i.e. performance, schedule, budget, downstream component/system impact, quality, etc.) and recommends alternate/creative solutions for mitigation/optimization if required.
- Interacts with key business & technology stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver requirements that reflect the needs of both the business and endcustomers.
- Decomposes business requirements and translates them into detailed design specifications and code.
- Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
- Devises new algorithms and data structures for target environment and platform attributes in alignment with architectural patterns.
- Implements initiatives as required to deliver business objectives.
- Balances costs and benefits for different solutions and recommends/decide on appropriate designs.
- Builds solutions that are supportable, scalable and achieve our aspiration of common assets.
- Recommends or automates approaches to streamline and integrate technological processes and/or systems to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Executes on project deliverables & outcomes in a timely fashion.
- Identifies opportunities to strengthen the development capability, such as: sharing expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, building communities of practice.
- Ensure jobs and automation processes are running based on determined timeframes and following expectations.
- Research while staying abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities & individual learning.
- Works independently and regularly handles nonroutine situations.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
The What_
: This is what you already know
- Knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
- Application development experience with any of the programming languages (C, VB, Python, SQL, Java, HTML, Angular*, React or any others) using different services and API's (like RESTful web services) to build/interact with data aggregators (like jBASE, MySQL, MongoDB etc), and can code with little to moderate oversight through an Object-Oriented approach
- Knowledge of data model design in relational data model, with experience in designing and developing databases.
- Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps and all things iterative
- Solid understanding of Microsoft apps (O365, PowerBI, etc)
- Decent understanding in Cloud & web deployment and management
- Decent knowledge in RPA tools and development
- Familiarity with ITSM and best practises regarding service, code, workflow management, with tools like Bit Bucket, JIRA, Confluence, or ClickUP
- Open to learning Linux commands & shell scripting, including legacy jBC (multivalue) concepts
The Know_

- Infrastructure: Ansible, NetData
- Behaviour Driven Development: PostgreSQL
- Orchestration/DataOps: GitLab, AirFlow, Docker, SonarQube
- Data Science/MLOps: Jupyter/Collab; MLFlow
- Back-End: uWSGI; NGINX; Django
- Front-End: NGINX; Vue.
- Dashboard: PowerBI or others
Diploma/Title:
- A Bachelor's Degree
or College Diploma
or Technical Certifications in a scientific or engineering
or IT field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience required for the position:
- Minimum of years of relevant IT development experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of Financial-IT experience
- Minimum of 1+ years of designing/developing database
- Any additional computer certifications are an asset.
Languages:
English is essential. Bilingualism (English & French) is a strong asset.
