The Role
Estimating Coordinators drive the procurement and closing of project opportunities that fall within our respective disciplines of construction.

Estimating Coordinators will use workplace technologies such as Bid2Win, Bluebeam and MS Project for the review of construction drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, and scheduling.


Key Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain systems and procedures in relation to estimating
  • Performs general administrative and recordkeeping functions
  • Contact various trades and suppliers regarding invitations, pricing, addenda, and tender/bid closings
  • Produces quantity takeoffs for all areas of the estimate as directed, while ensuring the takeoff is well notated for handover to the project team
  • Assist in the development of complete estimates on selected projects consisting of a project site visit, quantity takeoff, pricing, and presentation of the estimate for management review
  • Develop the schedule on which the estimate is based on, requests input from the project team and the various trades required
  • Assists in the selection of subcontractors

Requirements:


  • Interfaces and communicates effectively (written and oral) with the estimating team, with all levels of management, clients, and industry contacts; contacts and develops business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing within estimates
  • Full G license
  • Completion of postsecondary education with a diploma or degree related to Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, and Estimating
  • Technical knowledge of modern construction practices, techniques, and equipment
  • Experience working with Bridges, Environmental and various concrete works. Knowledge of construction costs and budgets, the ability to develop a project schedule
  • Strong computer background including experience with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willing to promote teamwork
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to respect strict deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve
