Job Description:

***:Under the general supervision of the Manager - Safety & Wellness, develops, implements, communicates, and promotes programs and strategies designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of employees, and to protect and promote psychological health and safety in the workplace.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develops, implements, and communicates strategies, programs and activities that promote a healthy, resilient, and engaged workforce, focusing on enhancing employee awareness of the mental health continuum and mental health benefits to improve accessing support outcomes.
  • Develops and leads health and wellness promotion campaigns; creates promotional materials for wellness program activities and education; and maintains the Well at Work platform and webpages.
  • Coordinates and facilitates wellnessrelated training for employees and supervisors.
  • Assumes the role of 'ambassador' for workplace wellness and the Well at Work program.
  • Provides employees with information about relevant community / health care resources that support health and wellness.
  • Researches and monitors new and emerging evidencebased workplace wellness practices and programs to assist with priority setting, program targeting and determination of workplace strategies.
  • Leads and facilitates the work of the Psychological Health and Safety Committee and participates on other internal and external committees related to health and wellness.
  • Actively works to develop programs that target psychosocial risk factors through prevention, in conjunction with Psychological Health and Safety.
  • Gathers, analyses, and reports on data and metrics to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of wellness strategies and programs.
  • Collaborates with the Internal Communications Committee to support positive communications and engagement strategies for employees.
  • Recommends and develops wellnessrelated policies and procedures.
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Experience:


  • Degree or diploma in Health Promotion, Health Sciences, Workplace Health and Wellness, or other health related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in planning, implementing, communicating, promoting and evaluating workplace wellness programs.
  • Mental health intervention training such as
:

Mental Health First Aid, the Working Mind

  • Knowledge of the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety.

Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to foster cooperative and collaborative working relationships with crossfunctional teams, community partners and staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, diversity, accessibility, Indigenization inclusion and human rights for equity deserving groups.
  • Proven commitment to continuous engagement and learning on topics that promote an inclusive work environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading crossorganizational projects
  • Excellent analytical, research, organizational, problem solving, decision making, research and project management skills
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to independently plan and manage workload expectations in order to accomplish program goals and meet client needs
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and current related software

Assets:


  • Standard first aid and CPR
  • CMHA Psychological Health and Safety Certificate

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


  • Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
  • Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation
