Instrumentation Technician (Full Time) - Redwater, AB
Primary Purpose:
The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician position is responsible for supporting plant operation by maintaining all plant Electrical and Instrumentation Equipment ie.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and comply with all Health Safety, and Environmental procedures as directed by local and corporate HSE department
- Execute the maintenance work (preventive and routine)
- Analyzer calibration
- Achieve 100% compliance with PM/PDM W.Os each month
- Ensure spare parts inventories are maintained and replenished as needed
- Work closely with contractors & monitor work quality
- Maintain equipment maintenance files
- Support other plants as needed
Qualifications:
- Journeyman certificate in Industrial Instrumentation and/or Electrical
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's and Rosemount Instruments
- Ability to read and understand schematic wiring diagrams and process diagrams
- Have knowledge and experience of maintaining and calibrating process analyzers
- Have experience with personal gas monitors, and area gas monitors
- Reliable individual who can work under minimum supervision
- Working knowledge and experience with high/medium Voltage Electrical switchgears
- Minimum 3 years of previous instrumentation or Electrical experience
- Knowledge of the use of a computerized maintenance management system
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks & prioritize work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in proactive planning and scheduling of maintenance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. OneDrive, Teams)
- Previous Servomex, Delta-F, Gow Mac, Teledyne &/or Drager process analyzer experience
- Previous experience in a continuous processing plant
- Dual ticket (Electrical &instrumentation) is an asset
- Class 5 driver license with clean abstract
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work extended hours and shift work as business needs dictate
- Ability to climb vertical ladders as required
- On call nights, weekends and holidays as required
