Assistant Operations Manager
Position Summary:
The Assistant Operations Manager works with the Five Star team to achieve company objectives by maximizing productivity and optimizing processes/ resources.
The incumbent oversees the Operations Department when the Operations Manager is away or unavailable. _This individual must be amenable to flexible work hours and starting at 7:00am._

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Management Accountability
- Assists Operations Manager in the planning and facilitation of Five Star service delivery
- Addresses and resolves operational issues and fieldbased concerns in a timely manner
- Leads regular meetings and communicates company directives to Ops Department
- Oversees staffing requirements, work assignments, and schedules according to budgeted staff hours
- Works closely with Ops Team to effectively manage staff absence, turnover, and vacation coverage
- Ensures employees are cross trained for individual development and succession planning
Staff Engagement, Training and Development
- Builds and fosters strong relationships of trust and camaraderie within Five Star
- Assists in the recruitment, training, performance management, and termination activities for the Operations Department
- Trains, coaches and develops Ops Team to perform at a consistently high level
- Researches and implements best practices, company policies and service standards
- Works collaboratively and in partnership with different departments to fulfill contractual obligations and ensure customer satisfaction
Leadership
- Fosters staff engagement through teamwork and collaborative problem solving
- Liaises regularly with internal and external stakeholders to obtain feedback and maintain an open channel of communication
- Develops and launches new initiatives to manage workplace challenges and meet changing customer needs
- Works closely with Sales/ Account Management Team to provide site (walkthrough) assessments and to support potential business development opportunities
- Upholds Five Star's high level of professionalism when meeting with potential clients (Strata Councils, Property and Building Managers), subcontractors, and other external third parties
- Takes charge of adhoc duties or special projects as required from time to time
Quality Control and Process Improvement
- Ensures Ops Team and onsite staff deliver excellent results and great customer service
- Develops operational guidelines, procedures, and directives for Operations Department
- Performs regular site visits to monitor contractual obligations and ensure client expectations are met
- Audits and evaluates operational activities for continuous improvement
- Regularly prepares and submits building site/ projects/ assignment status reports to management
Documentation and Administration
- Ensures Ops Team completes documentation correctly and submits pertinent information to other departments on time
- Reports workplace incidents through appropriate channels, completes internal documentation processes, and follow up with corrective action
- Creates (digital and paper) forms for documentation, training, and business purposes
- Reviews Operations data for analysis and improvement
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 35 years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Postsecondary studies in Operations, Project Management, Logistics is an asset
- Background from a service based or customeroriented industry is essential
- Previous handson experience supervising multisite locations
- Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization

Job Types:

Salary:
$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
