    We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. This position can be fully remote or hybrid .

    Reporting to the Director of Global Accounting, the Accounting Manager is responsible for leading our Canadian accounting team and overseeing all Canadian-based accounting functions of the Company including Quebec & Ontario and must be fully bilingual – English and French.

    The Accounting Manager will provide leadership for a collaborative team of accounting professionals working closely together in preparation of timely and accurate financial information for various entities within FirstLight.

    Oversee the management of the day-to-day accounting operations of all the Company's Canadian operations which includes supporting the integrated business and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals;
    Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Canadian regulations and internal controls, including with our Quebec Operations;
    Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems and ensure the team is trained on new systems and processes;
    Ensure accurate and timely preparation of ad-hoc financial statements and analyses.
    Collaborate with department heads to analyze financial performance;
    Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and provide insights into financial performance, trends, and variances;
    Oversee the year-end audit processes across the Canadian operations, address any audit findings and implement recommendations for process improvements;
    Directly supervise and lead the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture through recruitment, training, development, and performance management;
    Stay up to date on changes in accounting regulations and compliance requirements;
    Manage banking relationships, cash flow, and ensure compliance with all loan covenants;
    C omplies with all Corporate policies and procedures;
    Must be bilingual -English and French; Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline, required;
    ~ 7+ years of progressive experience in industry or public accounting;
    ~ Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Office, including the ability to develop financial models utilizing advanced Excel functions;
