We are looking for an experienced Shop Hand to join our team at Stinson Equipment in this newly created role

You have:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role involving maintenance
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined
  • Experience using hand and power tools (drills, miter saw, panel saw, palm sander, etc.)
  • Welding and hydraulic systems experience an asset
  • Forklift experience, certified is an asset.
  • Computer knowledge, ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and communication skills
  • Customer service attitude and ability to solve problems
  • Ability to take direction and a willingness to learn
  • Dedicated to health and safety including safe work practices and good housekeeping habits
  • Prior knowledge of construction and/or transportation repairs and/or maintenance an asset
  • Full G license is an asset

As a Shop Hand you will:

  • Receive and process parts orders from customers and assist with customer pickups
  • Stock and inventory control, including pricing, stocking, and cleanliness.
  • Loading and offloading deliveries, using a forklift where required.
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements, and maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment by supporting, following, and enforcing standard.
  • Assists in maintaining all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order.
  • Operate materials handling equipment (e.g., Hydraulic jacks and hoists, chains, slings), ladders, manlifts, safety harness and lanyard, forklifts, small loaders, and trucks to access repairs.
  • Determine proper course of action to facilitate equipment repair, maintenance, adjustment, and component replacement.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on crash attenuators, maintains parts inventory to maintain proper working conditions.
  • Follow and comply with all health, safety, environmental, and HR procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations and Department Manager
  • Attend company training programs as required.
