Reporting to the Assistant Director:
Provides strategic and operational leadership in the planning, development and implementation of the CO-OP Professional Development curriculum and service delivery with the aim of ensuring overall success and client satisfaction.
As a member of the management team, aims to position CO-OP at the University of Ottawa as an innovative leader and partner of choice in experiential learning options.
In this role you will:
Develop and implement strategies and plans in overseeing placement activities within the CO-OP process.
Provide project and event management guidance and support on placement services and initiatives implemented by the team. Meet enquiring and participating students and liaises with faculty and professors to ensure student and employer success. Readjust strategies and plans as needed to ensure successful results and outcomes.
Manage a team of Professional Development Specialists.
Lead the Professional Development Specialist in the employability preparation of our students by designing, implementing and delivering workshops, webinars and services.
Evaluate curriculum and adapt it in order to attain optimal learning experience for students and employers.Provide leadership and direction to internal and external stakeholders looking to take part in CO-OP placement process. Close coordination is required with other services and faculties on campus to ensure overall success.
Oversee the quality management activities including identifying measurable success indicators for programs and initiatives under his/her responsibility.
This includes gathering and analyzing performance data, feedback from staff, students and employers on their satisfaction with the professional development services.
Implement required changes to ensure the goals are met and high service levels are maintained.What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or other relevant program of study or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (minimum of 5 years).
Knowledge of professional development service delivery preferably in the scope of CO-OP programs.
Experience developing and delivering employability training and services.
Excellent leadership, organizational and time management skills.
A demonstrated commitment to client services and customer service.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision. Able to work under pressure and meet firm deadlines.
Strong analytical skills to compile and analyze data and to produce complex reports.
Demonstrated technical software skills using MSOffice Suite (intermediate to advanced proficiency using Word and Excel) and CRM systems.
Bilingual written and spoken (French and English)
