Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI) and/or the Research Manager, the Research Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the administrative coordination of research and scholarly related activities.


Responsibilities:


Planning and Coordination

  • Serves as the initial contact/resource person to the Researcher; reviews and responds to all incoming correspondence and inquiries, bringing attention to issues of particular relevance or urgency
  • Schedules, maintains, and prioritizes the Researcher's calendar and coordinates supporting/background material;
  • Coordinates/organizes meetings, conferences and functions as required
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with stakeholders including Department of Medicine, NS Health and Faculty of Medicine, agencies, and organizations with whom the Researcher interacts

Administration

  • Updates and maintains Researcher CV and Biosketches in various tools ie.
Canadian Common CV, NIH Biosketch;

  • Provides administrative support to committees under the responsibility of the Researcher
  • Composes routine correspondence and proofreads and edits a variety of material

Financial Coordination

  • Responsible to coordinate invoicing for clinical and academic work.
  • Maintains appropriate financial records for meetings, travel and other research related activities;

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • Grade 1
  • Successful completion of a one year Secretarial/Business diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Minimum of three years' experience supporting a senior level management position
  • Previous research administrative experience preferred
  • Medical Terminology course preferred
  • CCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional) or CCRA (Certified Clinical Research Associate) an asset
  • Experience in an academic health care facility will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MSTeams),, Zoom,, Adobe Pro and Internet
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize sensitive issues and respond accordingly
  • Excellent organizational, followthrough and time management skills, prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced, timesensitive and highly confidential environment
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated minute taking experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

Hours of Work:


  • 3 year Full Time Long Assignment
  • Beginning September 1, 2023
    Salary Information:
$ $28.71 hourly
$44, $56,003.01 annually
